Nine months ago the Yeshiva College community together with Nicole Mandelburg, Karen Shore and Doron Falk, the children of the late late Marion Falk z"l, embarked on a project to provide the school with its very own Sefer Torah. For 34 years, the late Marion who was principal of he Yeshiva College Nursery school worked tirelessly to make Torah an integral part of the lives of countless children at the school. The family together with the school felt that the creation and donation of a Torah was a fitting tribute to a lady who devoted her life to providing young children with a Torah education and will also provide an everlasting legacy of Torah for future generations of Yeshiva College learners.
On Sunday the 14th of February 2016, Yeshiva College learners, parents, friend and family of the late Marion came together to welcome the brand new Sefer Torah, which will now take its rightful place in the Boys’ High School Beit Midrash. The sound of dancing and singing resonated throughout Glenhazel as the crowd of over 500 people together with the Torah made their way to Yeshiva College. The Chuppah which covered the Torah was made by Marion’s family and friends and was adorned with words which her family and close friend described how they felt about Marion and they way she lived her life.
